I
see several different speeds and prices on your web page...
which is best for me? |
If you will be using a single PC from your home and doing general
Internet browsing we recommend the GP-6 package. It has plenty
of performance for the price. If you have a business then we
would recommend one of the Verizon business plans; the GB-6,
at 1.5Mbps down and 384 kbps up, with 40 email addresses and
32 static IP addresses, is a very good value. Call us to review
your requirements and we'll help you select the appropriate
plan.

Do
I need to buy any equipment to use DSL? |
Yes, you need a 10mb Network Interface Card (NIC). The telephone
company supplies the bridge (a small box similar to a modem)
that plugs into your computer. We recommend name brand NIC cards.
Something like an Intel or 3Com would be fine.

Do I need to be present when the telephone company installs my DSL line? |
If you are getting one of the Verizon plans, you do not need
to be present. A self-installation kit will be sent to you,
and in most cases you can do the simple installation yourself.
If you are getting one of the COVAD DSL plans other than CB-7, you will have
to be present on the final installation date. The CB-7 is a self-install product. Additionally,
the telephone company will install a physical line in advance
of the final installation. It is connected to the telephone
company box, generally located on the outside of your building.
If that connection box is inside or otherwise inaccessible,
you will have to be present that day also.

It has recently been increased by the FCC.
