Strong Firewall
capability:
Our Firewall
uses the packet filtering process. Every packet that is coming
or going (out of the customers network, or arriving on the network)
is examined and compared against a set of rules. The rules can
be anything but by UIA convention, if a packet does not match
a rule then it is ignored or discarded. Both Network translation
and DHCP are included.
BENEFITS:
IP Addressing is handled by the server (DHCP). All the users have
to do is hook up to LAN and they are surfing. Both servers and
end users are completely protected from outside hackers.
Monitoring:
We monitor
all basic features and all installed features. Things like disk
space and cpu utilization are monitored every 5 minutes. These
types of things might seem insignificant, but they are important
to the overall health of the server. Once a disk fills up, then
email will stop working. For example, If anything looks even the
slightest bit out of place then our administrators are paged and
notified. In many cases we are looking into any problem within
minutes of the trouble.
BENEFITS:
Basic problems such as disk space, cpu utilization and network
connectivity of the server are all handled remotely by UIA. In
many cases UIA staff is addressing problems with the server within
minutes. No more waiting for the consultant, and no fees for on-site
visits!
Intrusion
detection:
Our intrusion
detection system automatically creates blocking rules for hack
attempts. If a hacker even scans the network, he is cut off before
they can cause any damage, automatically.
BENEFITS:
Whether they are old or new hacking methods, they are stopped
at the Firewall before they reach the LAN or the customers servers.
UIA automatically installs new anti-hacking rules within minutes
of the new hacking method. All the servers behind the Firewall
are protected.
Firewall
Accounting:
Reports are
sent each week of all activity on the Firewall. Get hack attempts
and what was blocked, emailed every week automatically.
BENEFITS:
Customers can see all hack attempts that were blocked. Usually
this is a weekly report but this can be set to any frequency.
IPSec/VPN:
All of our
Firewall products have the ability to use IPSec/VPN. VPN just
means that all packets that move between each side of the VPN
are encrypted. For example; imagine that our Firewall (either
the SOHO or the Full box) is at some corporate headquarters. Call
this the HOST side. Then imagine that we have an IPSedc/VPN box
installed at a home office. Whenever traffic goes between those
two links then the traffic is automatically encrypted. Encrypted
really just means that it is unreadable. If for some reason the
traffic could be intercepted along the way, it cannot be read.
VPN is not
a standard. Providers of other VPN solutions will not necessarily
connect to ours or the other way around. Encrypted tunnels are
important when two different locations are NOT on the same network.
One could be on PacBell DSL and the other location may be on our
DSL for instance. This would be ideal for a VPN solution.
BENEFITS:
Customers can connect to the home office from anywhere without
fear of being "eavesdropped" by a hacker.
Web
activity Tracking:
Web tracking
reports of all the activity of company personnel.
BENEFITS:
Audit all employee web activity.
Mail Server:
Customers
can manage all mail accounts with a web interface. Adding, deleting
and changing account names and passwords are pretty straightforward.
Our mail server has virus protection and spam prevention systems
"out of the box". Standard Exchange installs do not
have either of these features in place.
BENEFITS:
Easily control all mail accounts. Scans for viruses and has a
built in spam prevention system. Every email leaving or arriving
can be copied to an audit account for later examination by mangement.
IM
Server:
IM is becoming
more and more important. Our server comes with it's own Jabber
server in place. It is more secure, since only the company personnel
and associates can connect. The customer has full control of the
chat server.
BENEFITS:
Get all the benefits of Instant Messaging while keeping all information
secure. Limit or open up IM with vendors, off-site employees or
customers.
Calendar and Contact:
Web based
calendar and contact manager. Get the whole company on a web based
calendar and contact manager no matter where they are located.
Since it is on the web it can be accessed from home, office or
really anywhere.
BENEFITS:
Set appointments, keep all company wide contacts in an easy to
use Web interface. Access can be granted to any location the customer
sees fit.
