DIAL-UP to Personal DSL CONVERSION:

If you're a current dial-up customer and are thinking of converting to high speed personal DSL, we'll make it easy for you. Your first month fee for DSL service will be at your current dial-up rate. You can convert your dial-up account to a faster, always-on DSL account! It's easy and you'll pay only your current dial up rate for the first month of DSL service!

Here's what you need to do:

  1. Call us here at UIA at (800) 982-6898 and tell us you want to see if your area has DSL available.
  2. We'll qualify you (not all areas are serviced by DSL yet).
  3. Assuming you qualify, tell us you want to use the CONVERSION program promotion, and your first month will be billed at your current dial up rate.
  4. We'll send you an Agreement for you to sign. Simply sign it and send it back to us.
  5. We'll get everything set up and ordered and in approximately 5 - 10 business days the conversion to DSL will occur.

Q. Is there a time limit or expiration date for this promotion?
  A. Yes, the program expires December 31, 2008.
Q. How does the "credit on my account" work?
  A.

When you refer someone to UIA and they become a NEW paying customer, your account will be credited:
- $20 if that new customer is a Dial-up or Residential DSL customer
- $50 if that new customer is a Business DSL or WEB customer
- or $100 if that new customer is a Business Frame Relay customer

For example, let's say you are a dial up customer paying $20 per month. You refer a new business customer to UIA who becomes a Business DSL customer. When they sign up, they need to tell us that they were referred by you and give us YOUR name and YOUR email address. Then, YOUR account is credited $50. The next two months, you will not receive a charge for your dial up service and the third month, you will be charged only $10.

Q. Can I get credit if I sign myself up for DSL?
  A. Yes, you will be billed only at your current dial up rate for the first month of DSL service instead of the standard price.
Q. Can I receive a referral credit personally on my home account if the company I work for orders services through UIA?
  A. Yes, but only if your company is a NEW customer for UIA.
Q. If I refer a new dial up account that pays one of the special rates such as educator discount ($18) or pays for the year in advance, do I still get the $20 credit?
  A. Yes.
Q. Let's say I refer an existing UIA customer to you who buys additional services, say a Web Site, do I still get the referral credit?
  A. No, the referral program is for NEW customers only.


DIAL-UP to DSL CONVERSION PROGRAM FAQs

Q. What is the advantage of getting DSL through ULTIMATE Internet when the big telephone companies also offer DSL?
  A.

What sets UIA apart from the big telephone companies or big national companies is that we are your local service provider company, located right in your community. And, just like you, we care about our community. Since we work and live in the same communities, and we belong to the same Chambers of Commerce, and we use the same local businesses for our services, we strongly believe in providing service with a personal touch. Additionally:

  • When you call UIA a live person answers the phone and attends to your questions or problems immediately. We're open seven days a week.
  • UIA doesn't load up the telephone lines with hundreds of DSL users on a single access facility. We carefully balance the load and add additional facilities as we grow so that you will get outstanding service.
  • UIA provides static IP addresses for business DSL accounts -- you can't easily get this from the telephone company.
  • If you are converting to DSL from a dial up account with UIA YOUR CURRENT EMAIL ADDRESS WILL NOT CHANGE. That is quite important for many people.
  • If there is a problem with your DSL in the future, you can call UIA and talk to a trained technician who will initiate a fix to the problem and give you straight talk on just what the problem is.
  • When you need to make changes to your account such as additional emails or IP addresses, you can talk to the person who will make the change immediately.
  • If you have a question about your bill, we can solve the problem right on the spot during our Business Office hours of 8 to 5, Monday through Friday.
  • You have multiple payment options, such as paying your monthly bill automatically via a credit card or Visa/MC logo debit card
Q. Does the DSL promotion apply if I want Internet only from UIA?
  A.

No, the program is for full service DSL only.
