ULTIMATE Internet Access Acquires Enterprise for Economic Excellence

CLAREMONT, California, July 16, 1999 -- ULTIMATE Internet Access, Inc. (UIA) announced that it has completed the purchase of Enterprise for Economic Excellence (EEE), effective Friday, July 16, 1999. The deal marks the second significant acquisition of another ISP in the region. Through acquisitions, strategic alliances, and aggressive marketing programs, UIA continues to be the fastest growing Internet Service Provider in the region. Last year, UIA acquired Cyberg8t, another full service Internet Service Provider.

Ray Mouton, President of UIA, said: "We are delighted to be able to serve the 4,500 former EEE customers and will make every effort to have the transition as smooth as possible. Extensive planning has gone into this conversion and we are confident our focus on superior service will be experienced by the customers." This acquisition is in keeping with UIA's growth strategy to add new customers cost effectively. "We are anxious to introduce the new customers to the benefits of UIA membership. We offer a number of services that were formerly unavailable to EEE customers, such as DSL, ISDN, free personal home page, and 30,000 newsgroups," Mouton added. UIA employs 12 people in it's Claremont facility and will add 7 more people as a result of the EEE acquisition.

According to Barbara Alejandre, president of EEE, UIA was selected because of their commitment to continue providing services to EEE members in addition to their commitment to education. "UIA is the most service-oriented company we evaluated," said Alejandre.

EEE, located in San Bernardino, was established in 1995 as a nonprofit organization to provide affordable Internet-related services, including local dialup access, web page development, systems applications, and training programs to San Bernardino County business, government, and educational entities.

UIA, founded in 1996, is a leading regional Internet Service Provider serving businesses and home consumers in the Inland Empire, the Coachella Valley, Los Angeles County, and Orange County. In addition to serving thousands of home users, UIA provides a broad variety of Internet solutions to businesses including high speed T-1 access, E-commerce, Web design and hosting, Firewall Security Systems, and co-location services.
